Does your child have a passion for fashion? Perhaps they dream of designing their own clothing line and having it sold in stores. Maybe they enjoy sketching outfits and want to delve deeper into fashion illustration. Or do they have a talent for putting together stylish ensembles, suggesting that fashion styling might be their calling? Whatever their specific interest in the fashion world, I am here to nurture and develop that passion. My goal is to educate your child about the fashion industry, enhance their love for fashion, and support their exploration in this wonderful world of fashion!

While many children's fashion books focus solely on the creative aspects of design, this book offers a comprehensive approach. Your child will not only enjoy engaging in hands-on creative parts of fashion design, but they will also gain insights into the business side of the industry in a kid friendly way. I will guide them through the design process, from initial concept to production, and teach them to think like a retail buyer when creating a fashion line. Additionally, they'll learn about pricing strategies and how to confidently approach store buyers. With a robust vocabulary section, they'll be speaking like seasoned fashion professionals in no time thanks to the extensive vocabulary section.

Your child will also discover various facets of the fashion industry, including its rich history and how it has evolved over time. They will be introduced to iconic fashion figures and their significant contributions, and they will explore a range of fashion careers and the skills required for each role. They'll have a blast drawing fashion figures using the included templates, mastering the art of creating inspirational mood boards, and learning about the best fabrics for different products, as well as various trims and embellishments. We will cover all this and so much more!

My own journey into the fashion world began at the age of nine, drawing dresses on the playground. That childhood dream became a reality in 1997 when I launched my line of accessories, which were sold in nearly every major department store in the U.S. and many big-box retailers globally. Over the years, my designs were worn by numerous celebrities and featured in various media, including print, film, and television. After more than 30 years of living my dream as a fashion designer and mastering the intricacies of the industry, I am now eager to inspire the next generation of fashion innovators and equip them with the tools to pursue their own dreams.
